In September 2016, under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, an international conference "Migration in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Modern Challenges, Experience, Innovations ", where the ACNO "New century" performed as the secretariat and co-organizer. The conference was supported by the “AIDS Infoshare” Foundation, UNAIDS, the Civic Dignity movement and was highly appreciated by the scientific community and authorities. It discussed the most urgent issues of migration in connection with the latest challenges related to the movement of refugees and migrants, presents the most successful achievements in the social and cultural adaptation of migrants.
300 representatives of federal and regional government structures, civil society, the scientific community, international and non-profit organizations and 15 media attended the forum.
Besides participants from the Republic of Tatarstan and other regions of Russia, representatives of countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Hungary, and also representatives, Germany, Turkey and the United Nations have taken part in work of a conference.
From a total quantity of conferees of 19% represented the organizations in health sector, the social sphere – 17%, the sphere of work and employment – 20%, the sphere of law and order and migration of-1%, the sphere of science and education - 29%, non-profit and welfare institutions – 14%.
Of the organizations represented, 67% are public, 14% non-profit, 15% municipal, 3% commercial and 1% international.
As a result of the conference, 30 materials were posted in the media and on the resources of specialized state and non-profit organizations.
Following the results of a conference the Resolution containing recommendations of practical nature for federal executive bodies, communities business and scientific community, the international and nongovernmental organizations was adopted. Taking into account the significance of the results of the scientific and practical forum held to form answers that are adequate to modern challenges in the field of migration, the conference participants proposed the annual conference in Kazan on the current topics of the current migration situation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
